Connecting, Caring, and Repairing
The North Shore Restorative
Justice Society is a community-based initiative that advocates and supports
restorative responses to crime and conflict. We believe in the transformation of
crime and conflict into an opportunity for understanding, reparation and
healing. The Society began as a collaboration between the City and District of
North Vancouver, the RCMP, the judiciary and a number of caring citizens as the
North Vancouver Restorative Justice Society. In late 2006, the society's scope
was expanded to include West Vancouver and changed in name to the North Shore
Restorative Justice Society. Guided by the core values of respect, trust,
humility, sharing, inclusivity, compassion and forgiveness, Board, staff, and a
group of committed volunteers work together to design, facilitate and support
processes that address the needs of people impacted by incidents of crime and
conflict.
